summmHER

It's really kicked up these days. The heat, that is.

Trying to squeeze every last drop out of the sunshine is just too easy. Here are a few pictures taken over stunning Labor Day weekend. Things that weren't recorded: three shooting stars, sleeping in my car,  hilarious adventure with a new friend, blueberry pie, conversation with sister, and the most delicious night of sleep post-volcano hike.

I'm anxious for all of the stone&smith work that I've been ignoring for the last few weeks. There are ideas and visions pumping through my veins - but, soon enough.

For now, get outside. Soak in those rays.

The days are getting shorter already and though I'm already noticing my sweaters, tea mugs and boots out of the corner of my eye with excitement, this sunchild don't want to say goodbye.

On that note, off to the river!

philographics

I'm such a visual person. If I see it and understand it, it's committed to my memory and therefore part of my lens with which I understand and describe the world. Reading this article > Philosophy 101. Just sayin'. Genis Carreras wrote a novel titled Philographics; a few of the images posted below.

Would make for an interesting Jewelry Line....

Tid-Bits

Is everyone on vacation right now? Trying to make doctors appointments, meeting requests, and random errands has never been so tough. Maybe I should quit trying and spend every waking minute cooling off at the river.

I've collected a few images on my work computer that, in no particular order, are awesome to me. I receive the Design*Sponge email each morning and my favorite element is the Before/After. It makes me want to re-stain and re-paint and re-upholster everything in sight just 'cause so much of it comes out so damn cool looking. There is also a section where people fill in what they love most about their studios/homes. Now that my basement studio is close to completion, maybe I should post some photos about my favorite new hideaway in this world. Anyways, for those of you on vacation, enjoy. And for those basking in the heat, join me at the river!

This is my boy James and I. He's the best.

a place to put your things

Current drool factor: woodworking and it's potential to hold all of your precious jewels. I, for one, use old cigar boxes and could afford an upgrade. If you fall into that category, check out Hamilton Roberts for inspiration. Etsy, I'm sure, also has a cascade of beautiful such things.

Hot Damn

Pardon the French, but hot damn. Check out these cuffs made by Canadian cutie, Love at First Blush. These beauties come to us from Montreal and won't leave my mind anytime soon.

Soprano

Clare's little sister, singing in the St Andrews choir.

Check it

It's one of those many many moments where you think to yourself, 'why did I ever stop playing piano', or 'i could totally sing in a band instead of the shower', or 'how have I still not mastered an instument'. The Seekins are so good at fostering these fundamental niceties in life. PS, Grace is class president. Kill it girl.

The Mocket

Hands cold? always losing mittens? wish your pockets were made of fleece and just a wee bit roomier? worry no more...

The mocket has arrived. They're mittens attached to the front of your pants so that instead of windy and rough denim pockets, your hands can rest warm and soft in a stylish set of mockets.
